Happy New Year!

IMG_2362

Hoping that  you all had a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year! It’s been awhile since I last posted, during the Holidays things get really crazy for everyone and while I was able to keep up on Facebook and Instagram my blog was left out.

Lots have happened in the Wiggins family.. Halloween was fun, little J did his first house to house trick or treating and really loved it! He wouldn’t stop talking about it all up to Thanksgiving and even Christmas! Lucky for him, Nightmare Before Christmas is a favorite of mine and allowed us to kind of have fun with both :)We celebrated my little E’s first birthday, Christmas morning. I cannot believe how fastly time goes by, and how much babies grow their first year. She bubbles with personality and strong will. We are so blessed to have her in our little family. As for Christmas, it was a busy day, and no Christmas is complete without a sick child. Poor E had a fever and runny nose all day. She didn’t let it damper her holiday/birthday spirit though. J had a BLAST with Grannie and Grumpa’s gift of a castle and knights, as well as some critters, he played with it ALL day! And New Years, well, kids went to bed on time, I went to bed early and Hubbs had time to himself to watch whatever he wished, so it was an EXCELLENT night 🙂 I find myself looking back to what I thought I would be doing as an adult and then what I actually enjoy doing being an adult and its veryyyyy different. What were some of your best holiday moments?

As for my buisness and goals of this year, that is not so clear. My husband is looking to return to school for his Grad’s and we are in the process of moving. Anyone who has sold a house will know how ‘fun’ and ‘exciting’ sitting around waiting for anything to happen next, can be. So we are in limbo. Will we move sooner or later who can know, so while we are in this state of limbo I have decided to let the buisness lie low, I had a chance to make a few things over the holidays and have them up for sale on my Facebook page, but things have been slow. And supplies have run short. Ive been thinking about my goals I want to set, and the things I would like to accomplish this year and I want to take this year to go in a new direction, a blog for the things that I love to do. I’ve always been into crafts, thanks to my wonderful Mum, and so there is no doubt that I will be in and out of different kinds of crafts because it is who I am, it is what drives me. Sometimes I feel it a curse that I cannot stay happy in one skill but have to branch out all over the place, I get my  thrill in discovery.. and not necessarily mastering in one thing but dabbling in many. I like to label myself as a dabbler in the arts. And so I find that I yearn for my next adventure to be in blogging. Not necessarily writing, because it’s not my strong trait, but in discovery. Discovery of new crafts, new desires, a new home. And also things I can do with my beautiful Little ones. I am particularly excited to get back into photography and decorating! So I look forward to a beautiful New Year, a new beggings, a re-newal of purpose. Not sure that these adventures will take place on this blog page, but I will post a link here and on Facebook when I get going.

I love the feeling of excitement with that tang of fear that comes from change, it’s invigorating but mostly inspiring! What New Years resolutions are inspiring you right now?

Bendy dolls and Rock Houses

After making my sister the bendy zombie little J couldn’t keep away from it, so I whipped him up a bendy Captain America and a Pink haired girl, he chose her colors, for Litte E.. however, it quickly became apparent that Little E was not going to get her doll back..

While up the canyon taking our family pictures Little J’s Grandpa made his dolls an AWESOME rock mansion at the base of a tree, Little J played there for hours!!

Heres the first home, which Little J claimed they were making lunch in, and then they would take a nap.. 🙂

It was truly magical seeing him have so much fun playing in nature, Im going to severely miss these mountains when we move, especially now that it is the most beautiful season of them all.. Fall… *sigh*

Zed Day!!

So my sister saw my Zombified family ornaments and requested her own Zombie for her upcoming birthday.

I decided to try adding a body so I decided to try a bendy doll pattern that I need for Christmas.

I added some gory bits for a more life-like effect.

There is some nice intestine action…

Here she is in her ‘ ALIVE ‘ state and her ‘ ZOMBIFIED ‘ doll.

Halloween in September

Time seems to go by diffrently for a SAHM with kids to young for school. You start to measure time in an “ish” way.. a good example would be ..” Halloween is close…ish”. I didn’t think twice about starting on ornaments and even went so far as getting Mr. Wiggs to pull out the Ol’ Christmas tree. Then Little J and I have been getting our Halloween on since. That was two weeks ago. I decided to make some ornaments that are our family but ‘ZOMBIFIED’, as well as spiders, frankensteins, and other scary creatures.

I have really been wanting to make some Candy Corn Wigglets but we will see if it is in the cards for our month.

What are some of the Halloween activities you look forward to this spooky time of year?

Forgotten..

Found this poor lad abandoned on a picnic table up the canyon. My little J thought he was the bees knees and took him ‘Fwihing’ all over the playground. He doesn’t really care for stuff toys, but little plastic action figures and cars… he’s all over that! I really wanted to adopt him, as little J was having so much fun adventuring with him, but decided to leave it there in case his owner came looking for him. I got a message after putting this pic on Instagram that it was a Mcdaunalds toy.. go figure. He did have eyes that closed and opened. Ce La Vie…

Presenting Kiri

Ignore her dribbling, she climbed onto the counter for a mid- sewing snack. Kiri is a tester doll I made using the talented Julie Colby’s, from Inviting play, 18″ waldorf doll pattern, found for sale here~

This was such a fun girl to make! I learned new techniques and I really love her size! I did use a stretchier fabric so she is a little big boned.

She was able to stand until I added the mass that is her hair!!

But we do love her ❤ She is a family doll and I look forward to taking her on many  of our family adventures!

She hopes they aren’t as embarrassing as this incident.. adding fluff to her bum for more sitting support 🙂

A new friend, The Wiggins welcome Toni, from Leap Phrog Design

She was made by the lovely Laura of Leap Phrog Design,

And we just love her spunky personality and sweet demeanor ❤ She is getting on very well with the other dolly friends in the house. Rogue is particularly thrilled at having a friend her size to get into mischief with :/ mostly good mischief though ❤ Thank you Laura!!

Magnolia, An Ice cream Shoppe girl

Magnolia is a girl who finds the beauty in the little things… a red balloon on a sunny day, the way the wind feels rushing through her hair, the sound of rain sprinkling on her window pane. She also loves the way the light sparkles as it hits the water on the lake she passes on her way to her favorite place, Sandy’s Ice cream parlor. The colors of the different flavors remind her of a pastel rainbow and she breathes in the wonderful aroma of freshly waffled sugar. Her favorite flavor is strawberry. Andy the scooper knows her by name and always puts a beautiful, red, balloon-like cherry on top of her pretty pink scoop. If you would like to welcome Magnolia into your life you have to promise to enjoy with her those little things that make this big life beautiful… and buy her an ice cream cone or two..
Magnolia is made of a beautiful sunkissed colored cotton interlock and stuffed with clean carded wool. Her hair is the most beautiful shades of purple, pink, blue, and white thick and thin handspun yarn,http://www.etsy.com/transaction/83691446 . She comes wearing a pretty pillow dress of Michael Miller children at play fabric, ruffly leggings, and felt shoes, she will also bring a felt strawberry ice cream cone with a cherry on top.

Miss Magnolia is still looking for a home ❤

RTG

The last doll I’ve been working on is a RTG-Ready to go. She is a sister to Two, a custom for a friend.

She is also inspired, background wise, to one of my favorite places in the world…

I love how she came out

And now.. for a proper introduction..
